Lake Como: The Village of Varenna

It's been an amazing couple of days. I'm going to start by saying that if you ever go to Italy, you must plan to stay in Varenna on Lake Como for at least three nights. In fact, if you have the time, plan on staying even longer.

Our hotel (Albergo Hotel) was just a 5-minute walk from the train station. The rooms were small, but the location to the ferries was a quick walk down a short alley. Once you get down through the alley, the view of Lake Como is breathtaking. Any pictures I post will not do justice to the scenic beauty that surrounds you.

The town of Varenna is a picturesque, smaller village. We stayed close to Passeggiata Degli Innamorati, which in English translates to "walk of lovers". It was a picturesque, romantic walk at night and during the day. On the walk, you will enjoy beautiful views of the lake, and you will also begin to notice charming little streets going up into the interior of the village. If the little cobblestone alleyways don't pull you into that direction, then you end up in Piazza San Giorgio, the town's central square.
