It has been quite a journey getting to the town of Atrani on the Amalfi Coast. It took two plane rides, two trains and a bus ride along the Amalfi coast that would rival any ride at Cedar Point.
Pino, who is our host in Atrani, would be a great Papa for any family. He has a positive attitude and is full of wisdom. He recommended quite a few good restaurants.
For dinner tonight we ate at La Palme. He started us off with a free drink called Ginga, it was tasty but I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it haha. Julies main dish was ravioli ripieno con provola e patate con pomodorini. It’s stuffed with cheese and potatoes and topped with tomato sauce and parmesan. The ravioli was fresh and tasty, the sauce was also fresh and definitely on the sweeter side. I had scialatiello fruti di mare, a seafood pasta. The pasta is homemade and cut thick, scialatiello is known as the pasta of the region. The clams and mussels were fresh and delicious, they gave the pasta a very nice flavor. We also shared a dessert, I’m not sure what it was called but it was a fruit mix and cream filling baked into a crust. The dinner ended with a complimentary limoncello, it wasn’t that great, but since it was free I gave it a try and now I know I don’t need anymore of them.
When I told the the restaurant owner that everything was “molto bene” very good, his reply was a very humble, “of course it was.”
Thats it for today, check back later for further highlights.
